چکیده
Our Jaboratory has since long heen associated with neuropharmaco· logical research. Among other methods, the one in which we have heen particulary keen is that of brain electrical activity recording. Looking hack to tbe work we bave performed in these years, l would like to present to you an account of the evolution of our techniques, showing how they bave changed along time (Table l). The first experiments were carried out in the rabbit acute preparation. In this setting we were used to ascertaiD the modificatioDs of the spontaDeous EEG induced by drugs, together with their inft.uence OD the arousal patterns due to the electrical stimulation of tbe reticular formation, oD the recruiting

Study on Antinociceptive Activity of Different Extracts of Peganum Harmala and Possible Mechanism of Action
The seeds of Peganum harmala L. ( Pgh ) (Zygophyllaceae) have been used in Moroccan traditional medicine for treatment of a various diseases and to relieve dolorous process. The major objective of this paper was to investigate the analgesic effect of ethyl acetate (EAE), butanolic (BE) and aqueous (AqE) extracts of seeds of Peganum harmala and elucided the possible underlying action mechani...
متن کاملThe Different Mechanisms of Action Potential Propagation in the Heart
It was thought previously that cardiac muscle gap junctions provide low-resistance connections between cells and permit the local-circuit current to flow. Some evidences show that myocardial cells may not require low-resistance connections for successful propagation of the action potential (AP). It seems that some other types of mechanisms must be involved in AP propagation. In this article, we...

متن کاملAssessment of Anesthesia Depth Using Effective Brain Connectivity Based on Transfer Entropy on EEG Signal
Introduction: Ensuring an adequate Depth of Anesthesia (DOA) during surgery is essential for anesthesiologists. Since the effect of anesthetic drugs is on the central nervous system, brain signals such as Electroencephalogram (EEG) can be used for DOA estimation. Anesthesia can interfere among brain regions, so the relationship among different areas can be a key factor in the anesthetic process...

Brain's waves are produced by spontaneous activity of neurons. These waves are changed by neurotransmitters in the central nervous system (CNS). Concentration of these neurotransmitters can be changed by various drugs and total power of brain waves also increase or decrease by these drugs. In this research effect of Quinpirol and Sulpiride on the brain waves was investigated. Male wistar rats (...
